Owners of Velodrome Coffee Company take next entrepreneurial step.
Sturmer and Vafa form BSP Queen City Properties, LLC and purchase the property of 519 West Washington.
Nearing the one year anniversary of their lease signing for the retail space located at 519 West Washington St. Marquette, Mi, owners of Velodrome Coffee Company, Brice Sturmer and Paul Vafa, form a separate entity and purchase the entire property. Operations at Velodrome’s retail location will remain exactly the same, however Vafa and Sturmer are now also taking over operating the building’s already successful short-term rental business. The 3 bedroom upstairs apartment has historically seen great success on sites such as VRBO.com and Airbnb.com. The pair not only plans to continue this operation but also expand it by offering another short term rental space in the building.
The customer facing entity of the short term lodging business has been coined, 3rd Coast Vacation. Details as well as pictures of the space can soon be found on 3rd Coast Vacation’s website, instagram, and Facebook. Bookings for the vacation rentals will be available through VRBO and Airbnb.
“Since calling Marquette home, we’ve been looking for opportunities to share this gem of a city with others through the perspective of a local,” Vafa says. “Amy and I are so excited to create 3rd Coast Vacations and continue to show the world why Marquette is the place to be!”
Sturmer adds, “We are not only incredibly grateful to our community for the support since opening the shop, but also to the previous property owner and our landlord for the last year, Dax Richer. Dax gave us a chance and took a huge risk in bringing in first time business owners as retail tenants last July. Dax was incredibly helpful and played a big role in the design and build out of the shop and was patient as Teagan and I learned as we went in putting together Velodrome.”
